PAUL BELL PUTS ON A METHOD MASTERCLASS ON DUCHESS
A lovely Winters day on the Duchess today and we had a decent match as well? Leading the way from fancied peg 8 was Paul Bell who gave us all a method masterclass with dead reds on the hook and a fine 129lb in Winter. Another 100lb plus weight came from opposite him on peg 22 where Winter League Leader Stephen Kirk produced a fine run of fish on bomb and pellet. Some late margin fish catapulted Summer League Champion Alex Dalton to 70lb 8oz just pipping David Lythall next door who also plundered the edges for a fine 70lb 2oz weight. A few more decent 60lb plus winter weights also recorded from Paul Beck and Simon Dunn, looking forward to another match on here sometime in the future...
MATT DALTON TENCH CATCHING MACHINE
Our last match of 2025 was staged on a difficult for most Newcastle lake. Winner on the day was Matt Dalton 56lb 15oz who plundered a mixed bag on the long pole feeding maggot with a catapult. Plenty of tench also graced his net. Second place was Keith Dalton 44lb 7oz from the unfancied peg 1 end of the lake, a slow start was soon forgotten when again many tench appeared on Keiths 20m waggler line. Simon Dunn completed the podium places with a creditable 31lb feeder caught weight preferring a single white maggot on the hook.
